COMMUNITY GUIDELINES: This is a community page designed for neighbors to come together. We welcome friendly and open conversation, however we reserve the right to remove posts which are inappropriate, offensive or are promoting business interests. We encourage residents to share their input and feedback on community issues, but please be aware that often the most effective course of action is to contact the City of Calgary directly at 311. The comments we receive here on Facebook and in-person at our monthly meetings will help guide us in sharing what’s important to the residents of Evanston-Creekside. ECCA board members are volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately to all inquiries. We keep a close eye on our page and will do our best to answer to the best of our knowledge.

2020 01 09 Rink Update

The rink is now OPEN. The Keep Off signs have been removed.

There are several bumpy spots we will fix but it is more than adequate to start! Special thanks to Eric Broome Alan Grant Rocky Mix for helping clean the rink and patch holes tonight.

The skate trainers aren't out there yet. They are pvc and wont make it through the 30 degree temps coming on Sunday/Monday.

Please stay safe and warm, and wear your helmets!

Please respect the rink and each other and have fun.

Thanks

Rob

2020 01 07 Rink Update

Rink is ALMOST ready but NOT quite open yet. Should be open any day. Yes, I know a crazy cold snap is coming and penguin migration is happening this weekend but what can you do?

Quick light flood happened today and hopefully will freeze up overnight. It was looking good when I was there at 4pm, close to frozen and I had to tell a poor frozen young man he couldnt skate 😞.

We now have hydrant access so we can flood any time we want (when it's not minus 40!) Thanks to everyone who helped out with that setup!

Thanks

Rob

2020 01 04 Rink Update

Rink was flooded on Dec 31 2019 after the water froze following the zamboni debacle.

Zamboni visited again today. Did an amazing job. Videos attached. Pretty neat to see live. Zamboni could only cut out all the rough spots because we do not have a local water source. More news on that below.

Some bubbles are popped and we need to do one more thin flood (hopefully Monday) and then hopefully it will be skatable again.

There is a hydrant on Evanspark Way that the City has given us permission to use if the houses circled in blue give it the ok. If you're house is circled in blue please send me a PM.

Appreciate your patience.

Rob
