An important message from our President:

As we gear up for today's Symons Valley Canada 150 Celebrations, I would like to take a moment to outline a couple of things near and dear to my heart...

First, I would ask residents to be safe. Safety is paramount and everyone's responsibility. Tying into this theme is parking and roadway safety. We are asking local residents to leave their vehicles at home and walk as much as possible. With an anticipated flux of visitors to our community, parking spaces will be at a premium. We would also like to point out that the Sobey's parking lot will have security and enforcement of parking spaces for their customers, as is their right and we ask that you be respectful and courteous.

Events will be commence shortly with Yoga in the Park and Nature Walks. The main activities will commence at noon and run until 4pm. There will be Bouncy Castles, Face Painting/Glitter Tattoos/Balloon Artists, Petting Zoo, Food Trucks and more. We anticipate that his Worship, Mayor Naheed Nenshi, your Councillor Joe Magliocca along with other dignitaries will be on site to address and meet residents around 1430. Following the daytime events, we will take a pause to reset and get things ready for tonight's light show around 10pm.

On behalf of Pete Steenaerts, - Sage Hill President and myself, we hope that you enjoy the day and take time to get to know and welcome your fellow neighbours, Calgarians, Albertans and Canadians on this Heritage Day weekend!

Respectfully yours,

Jason Yardley
ECCA President

We could really use your help! Throughout the year, we have events like Movie in the Park that aren't possible without volunteers from the community. Show your neighbours how much you care and get out to help! Fill out our form here to express interest in volunteering!
