Polls for tomorrow's municipal election are open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The voting station at Ken Taylor school will likely be busy all day, and then spike after 4:00. Please park in designated areas only, avoiding the drop-off zone, staff lot, crosswalks, and private property.

Safety is everyone's responsibility, including crime prevention.

The CPS reports that an overwhelming percentage of property and vehicle theft is preventable. Thieves look for easy targets like unlocked cars and open garages. As the weather turns colder they will also start to look for unlocked cars being warmed up in the mornings.

Let's all make our community a little safer by starting a habit of always locking our vehicles, garages, houses, and never leaving a running car unattended.

Advance voting stations for the 2017 municipal election are now open! The ECCA suggests Evanston residents may want to vote early, as the only polling station for our community open on Election Day will be Ken Taylor School, and that might get a little crowded.

Information on advance voting can be found here: http://www.calgary.ca/election/Pages/information-for-voters/advance-voting-stations.aspx
