COMMUNITY GUIDELINES: This is a community page designed for neighbors to come together. We welcome friendly and open conversation, however we reserve the right to remove posts which are inappropriate, offensive or are promoting business interests. We encourage residents to share their input and feedback on community issues, but please be aware that often the most effective course of action is to contact the City of Calgary directly at 311. The comments we receive here on Facebook and in-person at our monthly meetings will help guide us in sharing what’s important to the residents of Evanston-Creekside. ECCA board members are volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately to all inquiries. We keep a close eye on our page and will do our best to answer to the best of our knowledge.

Could you imagine?

Think of this in our very own greenspace. A place to see your neighbours, have a BBQ, stroll through beautiful greenery in the summer, and skate all winter long.

We’ve made some major milestones this year and have our drawings submitted to the city for development permit, but we need your help to bring this one of a kind park to Evanston.

Our goal is to reach $200,000 to kickstart the first phase of this project. Donations can be made easily online by visiting https://eccacalgary.com/park/

Or, visit https://www.parksfdn.com/donate-now. From there:
Click Parks Project
Select Evanston Community Park in the dropdown menu
Fill in the remaining information.

This project will truly be a gem, not only for our community, but for the entire city of Calgary. Something truly wonderful, that Evanston can take great pride in.

If you would like more information on this project, or would like to get involved please check out the video on our website or email board@eccacalgary.com

Do you value the public recreation and parks in your community?

Take the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association’s survey to inform our combined understanding and decision making.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic collapse of the oil and gas sector, municipal decision makers in Alberta have to make tough financial and planning decisions. They need to ensure their communities are sustainable, while they maintain the quality of service delivery their citizens have come to expect. Given this challenge, ARPA sees a strong need to assess the public perceptions of the value of recreation and parks.

ARPA has developed a short, online survey that will take less than 5 minutes to complete, to gather Albertans’ perceptions of the value of public recreation services and park areas. All Albertans over the age of 16 are invited to complete the survey. All responses are anonymous.

The more individuals that complete the survey the better picture we can get. Please share the survey by forwarding it to your networks and including it in your own newsletters or social media.

The survey will be open until Friday, December 11th. Take the survey now: https://bit.ly/ARPASurvey
