COMMUNITY GUIDELINES: This is a community page designed for neighbors to come together. We welcome friendly and open conversation, however we reserve the right to remove posts which are inappropriate, offensive or are promoting business interests. We encourage residents to share their input and feedback on community issues, but please be aware that often the most effective course of action is to contact the City of Calgary directly at 311. The comments we receive here on Facebook and in-person at our monthly meetings will help guide us in sharing what’s important to the residents of Evanston-Creekside. ECCA board members are volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately to all inquiries. We keep a close eye on our page and will do our best to answer to the best of our knowledge.

On behalf of the Evanston Creekside Community Association and all of its residents I would like to thank Ward 2 Chief of Staff Greg Hartzler and the rest of the Ward 2 team for their work over the last 8 years. Greg has been a great advocate for the board and our community over the years, providing us with monthly updates of Ward and City initiatives as well as answering questions from the board and residents.

I do not think Greg missed a single board meeting over the years despite having to balance other communities meetings on the same nights. Wishing Greg all the best in his future endeavours.

Thanks Greg and team.

With the mornings being darker because of that time of year, it’s time to remind you about being safe while walking, running or cycling in our community.

With darkness comes opportunity for unsavoury characters to preform acts of theft, break & enters, assault and even unwanted touching of unsuspecting woman.

Please be aware of your surroundings, walk in pairs, look around and always trust your senses. If you feel unsafe or encounter any unwanted acts, yell, scream, punch, kick, bite, do whatever you need to do to get away from them. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Sincerely,

Mike Stiles
Director of Safety
